The greatest and the most arduous journey that one could ever go on is the journey of the heart. This inward journey takes you through the toughest and most difficult of terrains. It takes you places that you have never seen within yourself. It sometimes shows you the flawed and unlovable places of your heart, it may show you the rude and the tough demeanor that you have adopted as you have hardened over the years, it may show you waterless dessert which is harsh and wants to wound and get even with others. It is when you land in the softer and loving terrain can you find rest for your soul.
Even landing on the moon is easy, the journey into the heart isn’t. That is why people often run away from themselves. They love to be busy caught up in the commotion of the world rather than face themselves. Being comfortable in your own skin or with your own self is a desired destination on a journey of the heart.
Is your heart there in the things you do everyday? ... by heart I mean your inner peace. Does it aim to help others or improve them in someway?
Do you find Joy in what you do? I mean real joy, not just satisfaction or happiness. If you do, you are progressing well in the journey of your heart. Keep on marching forward.
