Peace is such a beautiful state of mind, well I would call it an attitude
worth cultivating. Life has its moments (sometimes long-drawn-out
moments) of chaos and peace. Amidst the long periods of chaos as it was
in 2020 it is important to find inner peace.
Peace allows you to continue with life as if nothing ever happened. Although the whole world around you seems to be ruffled, disturbed, and chaotic
nothing really bothers you and you continue doing your own thing. Nothing
really brings your life to a standstill or pauses it.
A ‘peace that surpasses all understanding’ as Jesus he Anointed One would
say, is the kind of peace I am talking about. The world just doesn't really
understand why you would be at peace when they are so troubled. However, you
know that you have earned this peace by working for it. This kind of peace doesn’t
come overnight, it is cultivated over a lifetime.
Sometimes it startles me that I just go on calmly as if nothing bothers me
and at times, I am flustered by something as light as a feather although it is a momentary
blur. A calm mind is a sound mind that has control over emotions and is able to
think through, process, and make the right decisions in the storm.
A calm mind is one that remains happy, content, and productive come what
may. In fact, it isn't just productive, it is creatively looking for solutions
and ways to work around problems. A calm mind focuses on solutions rather than
on problems. When the shift happens, peace is restored to what would have been
a disturbed mind.
Learning to take charge of your emotions helps you take control of your
life. It helps you keep moving in the right direction. It stops negativity in
its track. It helps the mind focus on what can be done rather than on what is
out of our control.
Most people seem to be thunderstruck
when things around them become chaotic and totally out of control. For some, this
could become a major distraction, that they immobilized by the impact of situations
that are out of their control rather than focus on what can be done.
Understanding that you are in control of your life no matter what the
situation outside looks like, gives you a purpose and a direction in life. It
gives you the strength to carry on through the worst possible scenario. Your
life becomes one cohesive stream rather than bits and pieces of unplanned
happenings.
It is true, you cannot plan or foresee all situations, but you can plan to
take control of yourself and your emotions in all situations. Learning to focus
in the right direction will get you there. Look for solutions to your
problems within before you run from pillar to post for answers.
You have the required wisdom within if you take the time to look and respect
what is within you. Believe in yourself. Believe in your creativity, believe
that you have what it takes to make your life beautiful!
You can create your own inner peace which can only go from strength to
strength.
