How to find Self assurance and Self assurance quotes

Being self assured

Self assurance or being self assured comes from knowing yourself. This is a consequence of  not just knowing yourself but also of believing in yourself . Self assurance means self belief, belief in your potentials and complete faith in yourself. It is the ability to judge yourself by your own standards and stand by it, despite doubts and fears of other. Self assurance does not come by comparison, it is closely related to your self worth or self esteem. This word self assurance  may have a negative connotations to it, such as arrogance, but we are here concerned with positive self growth that asserts itself, not arrogantly or wanting to impose itself on others.
Most of us are ready to place our faith in others and their views but when someone questions our point of view we let doubts assail us  and wonder if we have made a mistake. A self assured person would stand by what he or she says, not because his /her ego would be hurt, but because a rational and conclusive thought process helped them arrive at such a point of view.  This to me means the highest level of self-confidence. It does not come overnight , it follows  process of self growth and personal development.
Eleanor Roosevelt said, “Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent.”  It just takes one to make you feel worthless, and that it  is you. If only we could believe in ourselves there would be more geniuses than the we could count.

How to find self assurance?
Here are a few things to do -
The obvious one is  to believe in yourself.
Befriend yourself. Just imagine this scenario- you have a friend in whom you believe, will you not stand by her/him when others accuse or speak ill of her/him?  Trying doing that for yourself. Tell yourself often - I believe in  (yourname).
Do not doubt. Do not be intimidated into believing the worst about you.
Be realistic in your assessment, for self awareness is impartial.
If you are wrong or have made mistakes  take responsibility and own it up.
Self assurance is not being right all the time, but it is the ability to know you can make mistakes and still be able to respect, value and believe in your self.
Self assurance does not allow for wallowing in self pity or thinking that the whole world is against you.
“It ain't what they call you, it's what you answer to”.- W.C. Fields
Self assurance is what you identify yourself with. If you think of yourself as weak, lacking potential or not good enough you will answer to such calls from other’s with hurt and a feeling of being persecuted. On the other hand you think of yourself as a good writer, with potential and ability, your response to people will certainly be one of self assurance.
